Alert Level 1 Update

Welcome to Alert Level 1, folks!

Yesterday was New Zealand’s final day at Alert Level 2, and as of today we are now down to Alert Level 1! We’ve all done an amazing job so far. It is also great to see that we have no known active cases of COVID-19 in New Zealand as well. So what does this mean for Cakes n Ladders and everyone looking to relax with some board games?

Nearly all previous restrictions on Cakes n Ladders have been lifted so things like Feature Fridays and Total Party Kill Tuesday can resume! In fact, we’ve already got this week’s Feature Friday planned. We’ll also be able to fit larger groups and let people browse the collection (and the food at the counter) on their own again. There are just a few things that remain in place at Level 1.

CONTACT TRACING
Contact tracing is no longer mandatory, and our notebook to write your information down has been put away. However, folks are still encouraged to keep your own records of where you go and who you are with. We can help with that with the COVID Tracer App QR code, which will be posted in the shop.

STAYING HOME
We know it can be tempting to brush off a small sniffle or seemingly harmless cough when you feel perfectly fine otherwise, but if you show any signs of sickness, no matter how small, we ask that you stay home and rest up. We’ll still be here, and will gladly welcome you back when you’re back to 100%.

OPENING HOURS
Our weekday hours of operation changed slightly during Alert Level 2, and we will be keeping those temporary hours in place for now, with the intent to shift back to the normal hours when universities start teaching in person again next semester. Our weekend hours remain the same (10:00 AM to 10:00 PM), but on weekdays – Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday – we are opening a bit later. Instead of starting business at 1:00 PM, we are currently opening at 4:00 PM. Our website has been updated to reflect this.
